The role:
We are recruiting for a Production Editor to join the Content Editing
department for this electronic publisher based in South London who are world leaders in their field.
The department is responsible for the data control of 48 titles and they
ensure that all the data sent in by Editors is structured correctly for both
online and hardcopy processes and that it is checked for grammar and house
style.
As Production Editor, your responsibilities will be to ensure data in the
content dept is maintained and updated accurately and to deadlines.
Preparing new data using appropriate mark-up and data structures, running
file format conversions and macros as necessary. You will be checking page
proofs for the correct formatting and layout and ensure that all data in the
content centre is delivered for production within the schedules set and
liase with external Editors and Managing Editors.
Requirements:
To be the successful candidate you need to be computer literate with good
typing skills. GCSE grade C or above in English. A keen eye for detail and
be able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines.
