The role:
The Editorial & Translation Manager is responsible for collating and creating all copy on the PC and iTV Products including the companies closed portals and the PC Media Product, the Welcome Pack, and the TV Interactive Services application. They are also responsible for overseeing the language translation of this copy as required.

Origination of new copy Working with Producers, Product Managers and the Creative Team, the Editorial & Translation Manager will produce copy including:

*  Navigation
*  Media players
*  Email
*  Search
*  Instructions
*  Help & Support - both online and offline files and manuals

Setting the editorial policy for the products and advising local proofreaders, editors and translation agencies The Editorial & Translation Manager is responsible for setting the tone of voice for the PC product (closed portals, the PC Media Product, the Welcome Pack) and the iTV product (walled garden, NVOD, VOD, eTV). Interpreting the requirements from Product Management and Production, they will take into consideration the target audience, the key objectives of the work and the language/cultural differences that exist across all markets.

The Editorial & Translation Manager is responsible for the delivery of all translated copy in a consistent (both in terms of process and tone of voice) and timely manner. They will also be tasked with commissioning work from the translation agency on projects requiring substantial copy and co-ordinate the flow of work between the agency and the local country teams for proofreading and eventual deployment.

Requirements:

*  A traditional editorial/publishing mentality coupled with a strong grasp of multi-media and web publishing. Experience of online production methods, a sound understanding of web technologies and digital TV platforms.

*  2+ years of working in a commercial web environment with proven experience of copy writing and writing for the Internet in a customer focused capacity. Extensive knowledge of the issues surrounding writing for the medium is essential.

*  The ability to create fresh and "sticky" content to expectation and deadlines.

*  Self-motivated and proactive in the working environment. Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy across a number of different projects aimed at different audiences.

*  Experience of using a content management system is preferable.

*  A good team player with excellent skills in mediating between the requirements of parties working laterally across the organization and the ability to juggle projects simultaneously.

*  BA / BSc or local equivalent required.
