The role:
This well known online retailer want a Copy Editor who will have responsibility for keeping a wide variety of copy clean, sharp and accurate across their website.
Requirements:
Editing entirely on screen, an obsession with grammatical accuracy and a keen eye for detail are basic requirements. The ability to be flexible and accommodating is essential for this editorial support role, and strong communication skills are vital as you will be liasing with people across the company, in a deadline-driven atmosphere. Experience as a copy editor, editor, copywriter or sub-editor is essential, as is the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment. Flexibility to do other tasks, such as the management of content, may be required. Familiarity with XML, basic HTML and the Unix operating system: Prior experience of any or all of these environments would be a plus, but not essential. However, copy editors must be technically adept and willing to adapt to new operating systems with ease and speed.
